Volunteer Opportunities

The Band Booster Board is committed to making each year an exciting year for both our students and our parents. There are many areas that require the assistance of parents to help to make this the BEST year ever for the Warrior Band and each student. Below is a list of some of the many volunteer opportunities where we need everyone's help to be a successful Band. These are just some of the fun & exciting opportunities to volunteer.

Baking Crew

The Baking crew is responsible for cooking treats for the band students.

Band Banquet

Our annual Band Banquet is scheduled in May. This is a great evening of reflection over the year’s accomplishments. We need volunteers who will be on a planning committee, sell tickets, do promotions, set up, serve during the banquet and clean up afterwards.

Band Sponsorships

This opportunity is new this year and is the BEST way to provide much needed funds for our band. We need ALL volunteers to participate in securing businesses or individuals who are willing to sign up for the various sponsorship levels.

Bus Riders

Each time student’s travel to an event there must be adult chaperones on the bus. We need volunteers to sign up to ride with our students to all games and competitions.

Color Guard

During the marching season Color guard volunteer needs are met by the other various volunteer groups. When marching season ends the color guard continues with Winter Guard and can have multiple events that require volunteer opportunities. Watch for these on the site calendar and when the dates are known an email blast will go out seeking volunteers.

Drum Line

Throughout the marching season - football games & competition volunteers are handled by the Pit Crew group. The drum line does have a few additional competitions where additional volunteers are needed specifically to the drum line only. Watch for these on the site calendar when dates are known an email blast will go out seeking volunteers.

Holiday Dinner

We need volunteers to work our annual holiday dinner, which coincides with a jazz concert. Volunteers are needed to plan, decorate, set up, serve and clean up on this evening.

Ice Cream Social

Our annual Ice Cream Social takes place after band premier night at the end of summer band camp. We need volunteers to help set up, serve ice cream, and clean up.

Pancake Breakfast

Our annual Pancake Breakfast is held in the Spring. We need volunteers to plan, decorate, set up, serve and clean up for this fundraising event.

Pit Crew

Pit Crew is a specially trained volunteer group who load and unload instruments onto the semi-trailer, Big Red. This group also helps push instruments and props onto the field for football games, performances and competitions. You must be available most games and competitions and go through a training provided by our Pit Crew Coordinator. Volunteer start time is typically 4pm on game days, at the school. Competitions, which fall on Saturdays, have various start times. The approved Volunteer Shirt is required for any person entering the field area at games & competitions be sure to purchase one today if you do not have one.

Prop Crew

The Prop Crew is responsible for creating all of the props used in the marching show. Skilled and unskilled volunteers are needed for activities such as, building and painting.

Spiritwear Sales

Spiritwear is sold at many times during the year. We need volunteers to help set up and sell spirit wear at various events.

Tailgate Parties

Our Tailgate parties are designed to help those students who do not leave campus after school before football games. This service is offered as an economical convenience for students to eat a full meal before the game at school. Meals are catered in each week. We need volunteers who can set up, serve and clean up. You must be available on Friday at 3:00pm.

Truck Driver & Maintenance

We need someone with a CDL Class A license willing to help and learn responsibilities for driving the truck to various events throughout the year. Also need anyone with Diesel Truck mechanic skills or knowledge. We also need someone to maintain the logistics, someone to hand out directions to bus drivers after Big Red has left for events.

Uniform Crew

We need skilled seamstresses or those who are willing to learn to sign up as volunteers on our Uniform Crew. This Crew does alterations, simple repairs and coordinates the cleaning of all marching uniforms.

Warrior Band on the Run 5k

Water Crew

Also known as the Hydration Team, this group works to keep our kids hydrated during marching season. We need volunteers to (1) load water and ice before each competition and game and (2) serve the students during their performances. Those interested in loading water and ice need to be available on game days at 4pm.
